The 80-year-old collapsed on the way to the Staffelalm.

Lenggries / Jachenau - The alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon.

Due to the poor reception at the point where the 80-year-old collapsed, the patient's son-in-law had descended into the valley to alert the rescue workers from there.

Jachenau: The helicopter cannot land on the spot because of the sparse trees

The head of operations at the mountain rescue team called on the rescue helicopter, Christoph Murnau, to take the patient to the hospital as quickly as possible if the suspicion of a heart attack was confirmed.

The crew of the helicopter quickly spotted the man because he was wearing a clearly visible red jacket.

An emergency doctor and another helper were roped down using a winch.

Landing the helicopter is not possible at this point because of the loose trees.

While the first aid was in progress, the helicopter picked up a mountain rescue doctor and another volunteer rescuer at the “Schützenhaus” in Jachenau and brought them to the scene.

After receiving medical care, the 80-year-old was placed in the air rescue bag and pulled into the helicopter using a winch.

This brought the patient to the clinic in Murnau.

Operation in the Jachenau only ended after two hours

Meanwhile, the two rescuers from the Lenggries mountain rescue escorted the patient's daughter, who was with her father during the collapse, on the last stretch to the Staffelalm.

From there she took Christoph Murnau down into the valley.

The mission was over after around two hours.

At the end of the winter season, the mountain rescuers completed missions on the Brauneck and the Denkalm.

In addition, the mountain rescue service rescued two men who, after searching for a crashed drone, could no longer make it out of a ditch on their own.
