"We find ourselves glued to 60": in Beauvais, users no longer want buses reserved for schools

2021-04-21T21:46:18.413Z

The management of buses in the Beauvaisis agglomeration will remain private for the next few years. As candidates refine their projects

On Place Clemenceau de Beauvais (Oise), Laurène watches over the intersection of rue Desgroux and rue du Docteur-Gérard.

"I'm waiting for the bus that will take me to the Park clinic," she confides, a little anxious about the punctuality of her means of transport.

This resident of the Argentine district has to cross the city to get to her medical appointment.

"I have only four minutes of beat so as not to arrive late", she breathes.

Beauvais buses, her only means of transport, Laurène takes them almost every day.

So inevitably, the possible modification of the transport network worries him at the highest point.

"Nothing is frozen"

“The last time, they changed the schedules and stops, I had trouble adapting,” she says.

For example, today, if I'm going to do my shopping in the shopping area, I take a bus that takes me to Delie at 8:04 a.m. and I have to wait 10:26 a.m. to take the bus that takes me home. in Argentina.

They deleted the 9 o'clock one without giving us an explanation ... "

The only certainty to date is that bus management will remain private in the city prefecture.

The elected officials of the agglomeration of Beauvaisis decided to do so by rejecting the possibility of a public authority to favor a public service concession (CSP) for a period of seven years.

The candidate (s) now have until June to prepare their file.

In their specifications, it is in particular a question of "preserving urban transport while developing the lines towards the communes of the agglomeration, the whole with constant means".

Applicants should be imaginative.

The agglomeration refuses for the moment to any comment on the subject.

“Nothing is fixed, however, ensures Jacques Doridam, elected in charge of the file.

It is under development.

"

It must be said that the outlines of the agglomeration have been modified, pushing back the borders towards Bailleul-sur-Thérain to the east and Crèvecœur-le-Grand to the west.

Today, the inhabitants of the communes of Beauvaisis can benefit from transport on demand during the week and from four “fixed” lines which serve Auteuil, Therdonne, Mont Saint-Adrien and Juvignies on Saturdays.

"Total lack of consultation with users"

While they still do not know what the future holds for them, Beauvaisian users already know what they no longer want: buses reserved for schools. “We find ourselves stuck to 60 in a bus while the other is almost empty, deplores Océane. And we are told that it is to limit the spread of the virus? Another mother points out the inconsistencies of these buses. “In Félix-Faure, we are given a bus reserved for schools at 4:32 pm while the schools finish at 4:30 pm,” emphasizes Juliette. As a result, the children have to wait until 5:15 pm to take the next bus… ”

A petition has even circulated asking for the device to be stopped.

"This does not satisfy anyone", confirms Frédérique Brugevin, of a group of users who also denounces "the recurring delays" and "the total lack of consultation with the users of public transport".

For the left-wing opposition, "developing the bus network with constant means is quite simply an impossible mission".

“Yes, we need to develop the lines to the towns of the agglomeration, some of the inhabitants of which are excluded from our network, insists Roxane Lundy.

But we need additional investments to also develop Beauvais lines, which are not up to standard today… ”
