The Visual Arts Department of Kei Dao Middle School of the Church of Christ in China is under the charge of teacher Zhou Xingyi. The "Criticism and Appreciation" class is more lively and interesting, so that students no longer resist writing comments. The "Art Criticism" is extended to junior high school art education to cultivate students' aesthetic sense as soon as possible. This is organized by Salvation College and curated by the director of the Visual Arts Department, Mr. Jian Li Lichi "Joint School Art Appreciation Teaching Project".

Junior high school students participated in the "Four-part Criticism and Appreciation Game" to learn "Criticism and Appreciation" through games. High school visual arts students participated in the "Interaction with Artist Project", interviewed the famous local ceramic artist Mr. Zeng Zhangcheng, and wrote art reviews.

Students collect information beforehand, study the artist's life and works, conceive interview questions, and write comments under the guidance of the teacher after the interview.

The biggest difference between this art criticism research and "Art Criticism" is that students can do their homework before commenting, instead of facing completely unfamiliar works of art.

The "Interactive Project" gives students the opportunity to get close, ask questions in person, and get a deeper understanding of the artist and his creations. The exchanges have also shortened the distance between students and art. Art works are no longer in the sky, high above the sky, and have nothing to do with them. It's within reach, flesh and blood.

In the past, due to the "sense of distance" in art critics, comments were inevitably superficial and superficial. When the objects of appreciation are works that you know, the meaning is suddenly different and the impression is deeper. You really start from appreciation and write comments.

This kind of "experience learning" is rare and important, and it will change students' perceptions of "art appreciation". Students will find that art can be approachable, and artists are also human beings. The so-called inspiration is not flying from outside. Creation cannot be left alone. It requires multiple observations. Think carefully... Appreciating art should be flexible and not limited by the frame, because artistic creation is already breaking through the frame, and the person who appreciates it needs to have the same vision.
