Only the alarmed forces of the volunteer fire brigade were able to free the two accident victims, but any help came too late. Both men suffered fatal injuries in the accident. A 27-year-old man from the Passau district, who was the third person to sit in the van, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital in Traunstein by rescue helicopter. The truck driver was also seriously injured.He was admitted to the district hospital in Altötting.
