The new crown pneumonia in Hong Kong has slowed down a bit. Today (21st) a new case was confirmed. The Philippines arrived in Hong Kong earlier. Since April 4th, there have been zero confirmed cases in Hong Kong again.

The government has banned civilian aircraft from the Philippines, India and Pakistan for 14 consecutive days starting from Tuesday (20th). However, the variant virus is on the rise. Experts once again urge citizens to get the new crown vaccine as soon as possible.

[21:10] The New Coronary Vaccine Clinical Events Evaluation Expert Committee announced the evaluation of four cases of vaccinations before death, saying that there is no clinical evidence that the relevant events were caused by the vaccine.

The case was received between April 5 and 18, involving four men aged between 54 and 92, all of whom had been vaccinated with Kexing vaccine more than 14 days before their death.

The first case involved a 92-year-old man who suffered from hypertension, ischemic heart disease, atrial fibrillation, ischemic stroke, hyperlipidemia and renal impairment. He died on April 5th.

He was vaccinated with Kexingxin crown vaccine on the 18th (March 18) before his death.

According to preliminary autopsy findings, the cause of death was a ruptured aneurysm of the left hemothorax and aorta. The expert committee believed that there was no evidence that the man’s death was related to vaccination.

The second case involved a 58-year-old man with a long-term smoking habit.

He passed away on April 8, and had been vaccinated with Kexingxin crown vaccine 23 days before his death (i.e., March 18).

According to preliminary autopsy findings, the cause of death was coronary artery disease. The expert committee believes that there is no evidence that the man’s death was related to vaccination.

The third case involved a 72-year-old man with kidney failure and required regular dialysis (hemodialysis).

When he went to the hospital for dialysis on April 16, he died of a sudden cardiac arrest.

He was vaccinated 23 days before his death (i.e. March 24) with Kexingxin crown vaccine.

Preliminary clinical evaluation of the cause of death was sepsis and hyperkalemia associated with dialysis catheters, and there was no evidence that it was related to vaccination.

The last case involved a 54-year-old man with a smoking habit.

He passed away on April 18 and had been vaccinated with Kexingxin crown vaccine 16 days before his death (that is, April 2).

According to the preliminary autopsy, it was found that the deceased had hypertension and heart disease. The expert committee believed that there was no evidence that the man’s death was related to vaccination, and a comprehensive autopsy report was needed to summarize the causality assessment.

[12:59] Two confirmed cases in Hong Kong returned to Hong Kong from the Mainland, and one of them received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the Mainland.

Some experts pointed out that even if the patient has been vaccinated with the national medicine vaccine, the protection rate is 79%, which is not 100% protection against infection.

Some experts also said that there is no need to determine the source of the infection too early at this stage. Except for a few cases of the South African variant virus in Hong Kong, the other virus strains belong to the Nepalese genealogy, and the result will be obtained by comparing the virus genes.

Regarding the government’s plan to launch the "Easy-to-Hong Kong" program in mid-May, that is, mainlanders do not need to be quarantined when entering Hong Kong. Experts all say that the risk of infection in Hong Kong is higher than that in the mainland, and it is "a low-risk area to a medium-risk area."

Variant Virus | Unidentified Experts in Ramada Hotel Call on the Corridor to Install Air Purifiers

[12:45] A 29-year-old Indian male patient infected with the South African variant virus was quarantined at the Ramada Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The Center for Health Protection stated that his viral genetic sequence is highly similar to the other two confirmed patients on the same floor, referring to the S-shaped hook on the hotel door or the source of infection.

Some experts say that there is currently no definite evidence to infer the patient's route of infection, and environmental pollution cannot be ruled out.

Another expert believes that airborne transmission is another possible way of transmission, because the hotel corridors may not be ventilated. If the patient opens the door and does not wear a mask during the infectious period, the air may be infected with viruses. It is recommended that hotels install high-efficiency filters in the corridors Air purifier.
