The investigations so far paint a gruesome picture. The 24-year-old who was killed was discovered on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at around 0.45 a.m. by passers-by on the footpath and bike path between Dr.-Konrad-Pöhner-Straße and Fraunhoferstraße in Bayreuth *. At the autopsy it was finally found that "the young cyclist had died due to massive violence with the use of a knife", according to the police.
Since the act, a 30-strong special commission at the Bayreuth criminal investigation department and the Bayreuth public prosecutor's office have been working under high pressure on the investigation of the previously unknown perpetrator.
With the help of profilers from the Bavarian Operative Case Analysis, the investigators created information about the perpetrator's personality.
Since then, the “Soko Radweg” has received around 70 reports from the population, which have been incorporated into the investigation.
