Russia said today (Wednesday) that Ukraine and NATO continue military preparations, and called on them to refrain from activity could lead to escalation. Authorities said the demonstrations were illegal, and in previous protests against the imprisonment of the opposition leader, thousands were arrested.
In some other districts, at least ten activists were arrested.

Kiev and Moscow have blamed each other for the recent escalation of fighting in the Donovas region, where fighting has been going on between the Ukrainian army and pro-Russian separatists since 2014. Some 14,000 people have been killed in the conflict.
Ukraine wants to join NATO, and calls on the EU to impose new sanctions on the Kremlin, but Brussels made it clear that it is not likely to happen soon.
