Scouting home in trouble: no guests, no income

The scout home on the B11 run by the intercultural youth network Wilde Rose is in great financial difficulties.

Due to the corona-related ban on accommodation, the facility's only source of income has collapsed.

Geretsried - In 2011 the Wilde Rose took over the house on lease from the National Association of Scouts. Since then, "an enormous amount of energy and money" has been invested in the project, according to the announcement. "Geretsried has become a meeting point for international encounters." After the complex, barrier-free conversion of the site with two small open-air stages, it is particularly interesting for music and theater groups that also work in an inclusive way.

The inclusive self-catering house is financed by the overnight stays of youth groups.

But there is no such thing because of the restrictions imposed by the corona pandemic.

Since the scout home does not receive any institutional funding, Prof. Herbert Swoboda and Jürgen Hempel have founded a circle of friends and sponsors.

This collects membership fees, donations and personal loans to cover running costs and loan obligations.

If you want to support the maintenance of the house with 30 beds and a barrier-free outdoor area, you can transfer a donation to the account of the Wilden Rose at the Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen (IBAN DE 27 7005 4306 0011 1969 04).

Since the Wilde Rose is recognized as a charitable organization, the amount can be deducted from tax.
