Solar systems along roads and railways

Around 20 percent of Kirchseeon's electricity consumption could be covered by two large open-space solar systems. Possible locations: On the south side of the B 304 from the outskirts of Kirchseeon in the direction of Ebersberg and on an area south of the railway line at the level of the Iveco or railway site.

Kirchseeon

- The first proposals have now been presented to the Kirchseeon municipal council.

Now we should continue planning.

That is not yet a decision to implement the project.

“That would take us a long way in terms of climate protection,” said Mayor Jan Paeplow (CSU) at the meeting. “We want to tackle the issue now.” The committee met with broad approval. Bernhard Buckl (Green List) got to the point. “It is not about political color games.” This meant different parties or groups: black, red, green, yellow or orange. “It's about the Kirchseeon market. Everyone has to pull together, ”says Buckl.

The suggestions were presented by Markus Henle from EBERwerk, the municipal energy supplier in the Ebersberg district and companies in the municipalities.

Two variants of the B 304 were examined.

First an elongated ribbon around 20 meters wide.

The facility could be built on a total area of around 3.8 hectares.

Due to the length, however, relatively high power losses would arise up to the infeed.

Second variant: A more compact system further to the east, for example at the Reitgesing junction, on an area of 2.5 to 3 hectares and thus correspondingly wider.

It could be connected via an existing medium-voltage cable.

The land is owned by the state property.

"They have signaled that they could be made available," said Henle in the committee.

More compact solution at the train station

An elongated and a more compact solution would also be possible at Kirchseeon train station.

However, the areas are owned by Deutsche Bahn or Iveco on the site of the former sleeper factory.

Systems with an area of 1.5 hectares (along the tracks) or 2.5 hectares would be possible.

“Both are technically feasible without any problems,” says Henle.

Conclusion of the EBERwerk: Both projects should be carried out in parallel.

"But we need the broadest possible consensus in the committee in order to get a tailwind," said Henle in the local council.

"It will only work if there is strong political support."

Henle admits that property owners (railways, IVECO, state property) are fundamentally open to photovoltaics. In practice, however, discussions often turned out to be less than successful. Therefore, the talks with the property owners should be approached with political representatives such as mayors, district administrators and members of the district council, the state parliament and the Bundestag. And: The two projects are of hereditary importance for achieving the climate protection goals of the Kirchseeon market town and in the district, says Henle. "The boar factory will be available with advice and action."
