A traffic accident involving an electric scooter occurred in Tsing Yi.
At 4 o'clock in the morning, some citizens walked along the footpath of Tsing Yi South Bridge towards Tsing Yi Island. When they reached the middle of the bridge, they found an electric scooter standing on the footpath of the bridge without moving forward, and the headlights were on.
Upon closer inspection, about 5 meters in front of the electric scooter, a man in his 20s was lying on the bridge floor in a coma with heavy head bleeding. He immediately reported the case for help.
After receiving the report, the ambulance rushed to the scene and immediately gave first aid to the injured. They were then taken to Princess Margaret Hospital by ambulance. It is reported that the victim still had breathing and pulse when he was sent to the hospital, but he was unconscious.
The police intervened in the investigation, and the case was classified as a "traffic accident where someone was injured" for follow-up. Later, a tow truck was called to the scene to bring the electric scooter to the office for investigation.
The Transport Department stated that it is illegal to drive unregistered and licensed electric bicycles and skateboards on local roads, even if the power source of such vehicles is not activated.
If you drive an unlicensed vehicle, the first offender can be fined up to 5,000 yuan and imprisoned for three months.
