The twins Muhammad and Abdul Rahman Shabana transcended the similarity in shape to be their talent and love for the sport of swimming and their specialization in the free and butterfly competitions, and their winning of gold medals in the past three years, a distinctive feature of them as two promising talents that attracted attention and proved their worth in the tournaments in which they participated.
In a statement to the SANA sports correspondent, the 20-year-old players indicated that their love for swimming came as a result of the constant encouragement and support of the family, as their practice of swimming was in 2014 under the supervision of coach Ibrahim Raya, who taught them the initial principles of the game, referring to their beneficial experience of long swimming from Jableh to Lattakia in 2015 And they managed to cut a quarter of the distance and the brilliant medals they won in the governorate and republic championships in the freestyle and butterfly competitions within the age groups in which they participated.
They expressed their happiness to receive an invitation to participate with the national team in the 1500 free-meter experiments that took place in Damascus at the end of last year, and to participate with the national team in the Tishreen International Long Swimming Race that took place recently in Lattakia. On the podiums of coronation and raising the Syrian flag in foreign sporting championships and merits.
Their current coach, Muhammad Zidan, believes that Mohammed and Abdel Rahman are considered among the most prominent talents at present and are distinguished by discipline and commitment to training and possess flexibility, good fitness and speed to implement movements and exercises correctly, and they will have a future in Syrian swimming.
