According to the police, the woman drove her VW on Prinzregentenstrasse towards the city center at the intersection with Oettingerstrasse - after initial investigations, when the traffic light was green.
At the same time, a 49-year-old from the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district drove his Opel from Oettingenstrasse south to the intersection.
Both vehicles collided and were badly damaged.
They came to a stop at the intersection.
The officials estimate the property damage at around 12,000 euros.
The Valley woman was taken to hospital for outpatient treatment for her injuries.
