The other lesson of an April 21
As every year for nearly twenty years, we are shown the images of this famous April 21, 2002: the qualification of Jean-Marie Le Pen in the second round of the presidential election and the elimination of Lionel Jospin.
It was indeed a historic event, until his daughter, Marine Le Pen, repeated the electoral feat in 2017, and her presence in the second round of 2022 was the hypothesis most unanimously accepted today.
But this April 21 tells us something else.
He revealed a democratic crisis perhaps deeper than the shock of second place for the FN candidate.
