Chief Executive Carrie Lam Zheng Yue'e attended the special meeting of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Construction Leading Group (Leading Group) hosted by Vice Premier Han Zheng in Guangzhou this afternoon (22nd).

In her speech, she said that under the guidance of the leading group, the strong support of relevant ministries and commissions, and the joint efforts of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao governments, various work has been fully carried out, and remarkable results have been achieved.

She pointed out that most of the policy measures announced after the leadership group meeting have been successfully implemented, which will help Hong Kong residents, companies and professionals to live, work and develop in cities in the Greater Bay Area.

Carrie Lam said that the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone is an important engine for promoting the development of an international science and technology innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and thanked the central government for supporting the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Loop as one of the cooperation platforms of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the National 14th Five-Year Plan. She pointed out that Hong Kong and Shenzhen have established a project working group to realize the "one district, two parks" under the "one country, two systems" as soon as possible.

Regarding cooperation in Qianhai, the SAR government is very supportive and expects Qianhai to continue to play its "first-to-first-test" function, launch more breakthrough policies, and promote the development of high-end modern service industries.

In recent years, policies and measures in the field of law and construction have been widely welcomed by the Hong Kong industry.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor stated that the central government's overall requirements for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area clearly set the guidelines for the comprehensive and accurate implementation of the principles of "one country, two systems," "Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong," "Macao people ruling Macao," and a high degree of autonomy. Act in accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law, and fully understand and use the advantages of the "One Country, Two Systems" system.

Two major measures taken by the central government in the past year include enacting and implementing the "Hong Kong National Security Law" and improving the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region election system, so that the implementation of "One Country, Two Systems" in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will be back on track, ensuring the institutional advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. .
