There is hardly anything wrong with that, but headmaster Johann Deschu explains in an interview with our newspaper why the test road in his house is currently not possible.
Deschu refers to a letter from the Ministry of Culture dated April 9, which concerns elementary and secondary schools. It says: “The self-tests generally take place in the class in the classrooms. Other rooms can be used as long as the hygiene regulations are adhered to and supervision is ensured. ”However, gatherings without observing the minimum distance and mixing of pupils from several classes should be avoided. "The supervision and guidance when carrying out the self-tests is generally carried out by the respective teacher," the letter also states.
Mayor Bernhard Mücke called him about a possible test road, reports Deschu. But in view of the letter, this is “actually not allowed” for him. At the elementary and middle school - currently only the fourth and ninth graders are taught on site - 300 self-tests have been carried out so far, all with negative results. “The experience has been good all round,” summarizes Deschu, who is certain that even a positive case in his house would be dealt with sensibly. Tests are carried out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. "We will have enough tests by the Whitsun holidays," says Deschu.
One difference to the Realschule with regard to the test road: “The tenth graders just line up well.” That may not be the case with younger students, says Deschu. For him, the ideal case would be that the parents would be able to carry out the tests at home with their children. “It is best if an infected child does not even start school. Apparently you don't have such confidence in your parents here. I don't think they would send a sick child to school. "
According to Deschu, it would be interesting to see how the first graders will behave during testing when they are allowed to go back to school at some point. The first testing of the first and second graders could then take place with the help of the fire brigade, Deschu can imagine. The Florian disciples were also present at the premiere of the self-tests on the Monday after the Easter break. That was "pedagogically great". Whether it is a self-test at home or a self-test at school: “One way or another one does not have 100 percent certainty,” says the headmaster.
