Russia's delegate to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Alexander Shulgin, confirmed that the Western decision that was passed in the organization against Syria was done through falsification of facts and blackmail, indicating that Western countries, through their actions, are leading this organization to collapse.
Shulgin told Sputnik that “in the twenty-fifth conference of the member states of the organization, which concluded its work in The Hague, an anti-Syrian decision was adopted by denying it rights and privileges. On the relevant documents, unfortunately this is what the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has become.
Shulgin explained that all this is done through the efforts of the United States, France, Britain and other countries that do not stop sponsoring plans against the Syrian government, adding that "opponents of Damascus through their actions to promote geopolitical interests lead the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to collapse."
Yesterday, Syria strongly condemned the decision that was passed by Western countries in the 25th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons against it, stressing that it constitutes a dangerous development in the organization's work process and is inconsistent with its charter.
