Tree burials should soon be possible in Hallbergmoos and Goldach.

The areas could be laid out this year.

Hallbergmoos

- More and more people are choosing tree burials.

This option will now also be available at the cemeteries in Hallbergmoos and Goldach.

After the building committee has approved the concept, the areas can still be laid out this year.

Tree burial in the Freising district: Pastors brought a request to the municipality at the end of 2018

At the end of 2018, the pastors of the Catholic and Protestant Church had already approached the municipality with the request from the population to set up tree burial facilities in the local cemeteries.

In 2019 the drafts were presented to the municipal council.

Now, after further coordination meetings and three on-site visits with the parish, the concept is ready.

At the cemetery of the Theresienkirche in Hallbergmoos, the area for tree burials is to be added in the north-western part.

It is planned to bury the urns on the green areas under four sweetgum trees.

The area should be bordered with a yew hedge, but not partitioned off, because one wants to preserve the park-like character.

In Goldach, the tree burial area is to be created northeast of the funeral hall.

Style oaks are planned for the flowering area.

Tree burial: on-site stonemason should take care of the artistic design

The building committee agreed that the concept was very successful.

With name plates attached to stone steles, if the bereaved so wish, the deceased is remembered.

Sabina Brosch (Greens) suggested asking a local stonemason about the artistic design.

Senior advisor Christiane Oldenburg-Balden asked in writing that enough seating and benches be set up for the mourners.

The urns are embedded in the root area of the trees in the green area - a maximum of four pieces on top of each other in a "tube", as it was called.

A circumstance that Heinrich Lemer (FW) did not particularly like, but was common practice, assured Michael Waller from the building authority.

There should be no name reference to the respective deceased on the burial area itself.

Waller said there were no objections from the churches.

“Remembrance at a central point is precisely the essence of a tree burial,” emphasized Thomas Henning.

If you are looking for an individual place to mourn, you can choose a single urn grave.

Hallbergmoos: Costs for tree burials increased by 20,000 euros

Subject to the approval of the 2021 budget, the building and planning committee approved the implementation of both tree burial areas.

The detailed questions raised are still to be agreed with the parish.

The costs have risen from 50,000 to 70,000 euros because additional measures such as expanding the hands-free system, seating and paths are necessary.
