Imagine that the French government, despairing of this pandemic which is pinning planes and passengers to the ground, decides to abandon Orly to build a new residential area.
It's a bit of a shock Sweden has just experienced with the announced closure of Bromma, which, with 2.4 million passengers, was the country's third airport in 2019.
Because Bromma was in a way the Orly of Sweden: an airport very close to the capital, 5-6 kilometers from the city center, more dedicated to domestic flights.

But today, the oldest airport in the Swedish capital, the first in Europe to have paved runways, is only a shadow of itself.
Only a few planes take off each day for the island of Gotland or Malmö and Angelhölm, in the south of the country.
The terminal seems deserted and, according to the state-owned Swedavia, which manages the ten largest airports in the country, "
its operation is no longer commercially viable
".
