The Civil Status Law aims to simplify the procedures for citizens to obtain any document related to civil registry data electronically, such as inheritance inventory, birth and death incidents, personal and family cards, and the law allows obtaining these documents and data directly from any civil registry center in the citizen's place of residence.

In a statement to SANA, the Director General of Civil Status Ahmed Rahal stated that the new Civil Status Law No. 13 of 2021 is the result of simplifying these procedures and implementing the One Syria Trust project on the ground.

According to Rahhal, the One Syria Trust project aims to build a single central database that represents the complete electronic civil registry for all governorates, so that every citizen is represented by one national number at the country level.

Rahal pointed out that the paper work in the civil registry will be dispensed with and become completely electronic, which reduces corruption cases, considering that the single Syrian secretariat will be the nucleus for any technological progress and a basic basis for its use by government agencies in accordance with administrative and technical controls and determinants and pave the way for building a national information bank that will be built Any information project at the country level should pave the way for building a broader archiving system for civil status papers.

According to the Director General of Civil Status, the project includes merging the distributed governorates' databases into a central database and realizing the concept of a single civil registry secretariat in dealing with restrictions and preserving the uniqueness of registration and eliminating the impact of transfer incidents represented by the repetition of civil registration and the representation of civil registration for each citizen with a single computer record to which his incidents are related and be The national number is the primary key for this record.

According to Rahhal, the project enables the citizen to obtain a statement about the incident immediately after recording it, noting that Law No. 13 of 2021, which includes the new Civil Status Law, has contributed to the security of data and information by creating backup copies and storing them in special vaults to save magnetic media and making the software codified to prevent tampering. In which.

Regarding the facilities obtained by the Syrian expatriate, Rahal indicated that the project allowed him to obtain a certificate of the incident or a certified copy of it from the competent authorities in the country of expatriation and submit it to any of the civil registry centers through his relatives up to the fourth degree or his legal representative in the event that Not being able to register that incident (birth, death, marriage, divorce) with our diplomatic missions abroad, in the event that his residence was in an area far from the Syrian embassy or if he was residing in an area that does not have diplomatic representation, and an additional time has been given to record the incidents occurring outside the country To become nine months without any fine.

According to the traveler of the role of brokers and the trackers of transactions, the project was canceled, as transactions became easy and can be obtained directly from any civil registry center, and it specified the persons entitled to report civil status incidents and restricted them to relatives up to the fourth degree or the legal agent.
