Accidental death of father of three: family in shock - fundraising campaign started

With the accidental death of her partner, a world collapses for Caro Göbel from Holzkirchen.

Friends organized a fundraiser to help at least where money can help.

The 19-year-old son is at home; he only recently started studying in Passau.

Caro Göbel (41) is waiting for her partner Andreas Klupak.

The 43-year-old works in a car workshop in Warngau.

It is 7.30 p.m.

“Today Dad is late,” the son says to his eleven-year-old sister.

Caro Göbel still has these minutes in mind.

A car pulls up. Two policemen get out, two other people from the crisis intervention team. Then the boss of the significant other appears. “I know that I said, 'No, please don't',” recalls the woman from Holzkirchen. She had the baby in her arms, the little son, born seven months ago. "Actually, they didn't have to say anything more."

Then you said something terrible had happened around 6:20 p.m. on the road from Marschall to Holzkirchen.

Andreas Klupak drove home on the scooter.

“He was home for lunch,” recalls Göbel, “because the weather was so nice, he took the scooter.” On the opposite lane, the driver of a flatbed truck lost control.

Klupak was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The small truck rammed him and his scooter off the road and hit a tree.

Both men lost their lives.

By that evening, their life was normal, says Göbel, "and a moment later nothing is as it was." The couple met 18 years ago, the sociable Holzkirchner with the large circle of friends and the Caro from Grub, " he was such a super dad ”. All gone. "So many years - and suddenly you are alone."

Not least of all with the concern of how the family can make ends meet financially, without the main breadwinner's salary.

Caro Göbel currently only has the parental allowance, she will not return to her job as a tax clerk until autumn.

And whether and when she can earn something more as a Tupperware consultant, as she did before, is in the stars.

The couple was not married.

"He always said that we don't need the wedding for our happiness," says the 41-year-old, "now I know that as a married woman I would have a little less to worry about."

The large circle of friends did not hesitate long.

“Instead of many words, they handed me envelopes with money,” says Göbel.

That helps for a few weeks.

But is that enough to pay the rent, get the children through the pandemic, and enable the son to continue studying?

“I have no plan,” admits the 41-year-old.

The force of the terrible event three weeks ago is still shaking her.

Friends have now started a fundraising campaign via Facebook and WhatsApp.

Caro Göbel is grateful - and honest.

“Every euro helps me to clear my head again.” The mother of three has decided to get back on his feet soon on her own.
