General practitioners in Bavaria are now allowed to vaccinate AstraZeneca for everyone.

The willingness of the citizens is growing.

The doctors are happy about both.

Munich - In Bavaria, Astrazeneca * can now be vaccinated to anyone over the age of 18.

"Fortunately," says Marc Block, family doctor in Zorneding and medical coordinator in the Ebersberg district.

In the past few weeks, he and his colleagues had to do some persuasive work in discussions with older patients.

“We had to offer Astrazeneca like sour beer,” says Block.

That has now changed: “We are ready now.” Patients in particular who would only have had the chance of a vaccination in a few weeks' time would accept the offer.

Bavaria vaccinates: Astrazeneca appointments in Weilheim asked - the vaccination delivery does not work perfectly yet

In the Weilheim-Schongau district, too, younger patients take advantage of the vaccination offer.

The telephone rush has so far not taken place, says the Weilheim doctor Christian Lübbers.

Patients who would like a Corona * vaccination could, however, be placed on a waiting list by email.

Up until now, however, it has been somewhat difficult to supply practices with vaccines.

"We often only find out at very short notice what we will receive in the coming week," says Lübbers.

For the next week, however, it is already clear: The Weilheim practice will only receive Biontech, but not a single ampoule of Astrazeneca.

Astrazeneca vaccination in Bavaria: Freising doctor fears rush - and is reminded of GDR

In Kranzberg in the Freising district, family doctor Michael Haslbeck feared a rush the moment he heard the news from Bavaria's Minister of Health, Klaus Holetschek.

He thought of the GDR politician Günter Schabowski: “He said in the legendary press conference in 1989 that the borders are open.

And I thought the same thing when the Minister of Health said. ”On Thursday morning, the first patients under the age of 60 wanted a vaccination with Astrazeneca.

However, the ration in the family doctor's practice had already been used up.

And like many other practices, Haslbeck and his team will not receive any ampoules next week.

Coronavirus: "Can't vaccinate Astrazeneca next week" - supplies in Rosenheim splattered after rush

The same thing happens in Rosenheim, in the practice of family doctor Nikolaus Klecker. “We can't vaccinate an Astrazeneca next week,” says Klecker. However, yesterday, Thursday, he had already vaccinated some patients with the vaccine. “Nobody complained,” says Klecker. Sometimes things look different on the phone. “Do you have the good or bad vaccine?” Are a few inquiries. His employees, he says, have been doing “incredible things” for weeks because of the vaccinations. Even during the lunch breaks, people sometimes use the phone to coordinate appointments, vaccinations and calls. "Here a bonus payment from the government would be appropriate," demands the Rosenheim doctor. (lif / mes)
