If an expert has its way, the matter is clear: The St 2082 roundabout is the ideal location for a radio mast.
But the local council doesn't think so.

- For years, Telekom has wanted to set up a third mobile radio mast, which, in addition to the two current ones at the Skaterpark and Poinger Weg, is to cover the community center.
Also with regard to the many new arrivals through Kirchheim in 2030 and the visitors to the State Garden Show in 2024. However, the main committee rejected the building application for a mast in the new roundabout on State Road 2082.
The Munich expert Hans Ulrich has been looking for the best technical locations on behalf of the municipality for years.
For him it would be ideally south of the state road 2082 at the knee of the ascent and descent.
This would best cover the new town center and, according to Ulrich, the lowest radiation exposure for everyone.

But as early as September 2018 and again in May 2019, the municipal councils rejected this location for aesthetic reasons. The then SPD councilor Marcel Prohaska suggested the construction of an eleven-story house, "then we will create living space and also the location of the transmitter mast". Wolfgang Heinz-Fischer (VFW) recommended the South African model, “The tall transmitter masts are hidden in palm trees there. Or we can build a lookout tower instead of the park pulpit. ”Mayor Maximilian Böltl (CSU) advised building the system on the roof of the new town hall, where it was only a few meters short of the necessary 40 meters.
Telekom has now submitted the building application for a 40-meter-high steel lattice mast with a five-meter extension tube, work platforms and support tubes.
The location: in the new roundabout on the green area at Staatsstrasse 2082. "I was hoping that the applicant would talk to us beforehand about the location and the optics," said Böltl in the committee.
“Unfortunately that didn't happen.
Since the mast is not included in the development plan, we can only reject the application. "
Mobile network important for visitors to the State Garden Show
The building plot is owned by the Free State of Bavaria and is assigned to the state road. Since expert Ulrich urged in March 2019 to bring about an early decision so that a sufficient mobile network is available for the several thousand visitors to the state horticultural show every day, the municipal council must finally react two years later.
There are three options for Böltl: The operator is looking for another location, even if there are two reports per roundabout. "Or it offers us a reasonable look, but not such a steel lattice mast," said the town hall chief. "Or we get a lot of small antennas on the roofs of the house and thus a significantly higher radiation exposure than with the high mast." Wolfgang Heinz-Fischer (VFW) fears that a rejection of the application would offer an extremely bad image for an investor. “First we signal that a mast can be built, then we order several expert reports. Then he wants to build exactly where the reports recommend and now we're turning a long nose for him, ”criticized Heinz-Fischer. It was completely clear to him, replied Böltl, that more mobile communications services had to be offered in the community. "But not like this,that is only possible in a dialogue. ”So the main committee rejected the building application unanimously.
