2021-04-23T22:08:59.344Z

NEW - The electric range of the firm to the star will be enriched with a family SUV derived from the GLB.

It's a certainty: each Mercedes model family will have its 100% electric EQ version.

After the EQC, EQV, EQA and EQS, the star firm took advantage of the Shanghai show to present the EQB.

This SUV is the electric version of the GLB, the 7-seater SUV developed from the A-Class and GLA platform.

Like the GLB, the wheelbase has been increased to 2,829 mm to reach a length of 4.68 m (+ 5 cm compared to the GLB) and allow the installation of a third row of seats.

This can accommodate two people, provided they are no more than 1.65m tall.

Depending on requirements, the bench in row 2 slides over an amplitude of 140 mm and the seat backs have several tilt levels.

When the bench is moved forward as far as possible, the trunk loading volume increases by 190 liters.

The EQB offers a multitude of configurations.

The trunk capacity varies from 465 to 1,710 liters with the rear seats folded down.

If the interior atmosphere is close to that of the GLB, the technology comes from the EQA. Produced in the Hungarian Mercedes plant, this new 7-seater SUV will be available in several power and transmission versions (traction or four-wheel drive). The entry-level model is expected to deliver 190 hp, like the EQA, but a version over 200 kW (272 hp) is on the program. The battery has a capacity of 66.5 kWh to claim a range of 419 km, according to the WLTP standard, which corresponds to a standardized consumption of 19.2 kWh / 100 km. The EQB will hit the market at the end of 2021.
