After the "profit" prayer of the month of Ramadan on the Temple Mount ended, hundreds of Arabs began violently disturbing order, throwing bottles and objects at the police forces stationed in the Nablus Gate area.

The police dispersed the demonstrators in an attempt to distinguish between worshipers finished their prayers and rioters.

Hundreds of young people rioted for long hours as police forces pushed them into the depths of the city’s east and nearby streets.

At the same time, hundreds of Jewish demonstrators gathered, many of them Lehavah activists near IDF Square, and later moved toward the Nablus Gate.

Additional police forces stopped their movement near Highway 1 and allowed them to protest on the spot while dividing between the sides.

At one point hundreds of protesters began throwing stones and bottles at the police, and in one case one of them tried to hit through a fence set up at the scene by the police horse.

Later, the demonstrators tried to break through the fences, but were stopped by the forces.

Later, the police drove them away towards the nearby Highway 1 and then in the direction of Ma'aleh to Tzahal Square and Jaffa Street. Dozens of them continued to riot while attacking police officers and causing damage to the train station there.

Later in the night, riots continued, including stone-throwing, fireworks, violence and rioting at Zacks Junction, Van Passen, Yehudai Junction, Shivtei Yisrael Junction and the Third Wall with Bar Lev Road, Haneviim Junction and near the Nablus Gate.

In these places, too, the police worked to restore order, and in most cases were forced to use means, repelling the rioters to prevent clashes between those involved.

Hundreds of Lehavah members marched from Safra Square to the Nablus Gate last night in protest of recent attacks on Jews by Arabs. Benzi Gupstein, the organization's chairman, arrived with supporters at the Nablus Gate chanting: "The people of Israel are alive." On their clothes with the caption: "Kahana Tzedek" and other demonstrators shouted racist chants such as "Od Kahana Chai" and "Death to the Arabs."
