"I am like Thomas Pesquet, I have not yet taken off," quips the Communist candidate, who wishes to go through with his approach.

Fabien Roussel will go all the way.

The candidate of the French Communist Party for the presidential election of 2022 does not want to line up behind another left-wing candidate, he repeated once again on Europe 1, Friday, April 23.

While his party had supported Jean-Luc Mélenchon in 2012 and 2017, the member for the North does not want to hear about it this year.

I have so many ambitions, hopes for the world of work, for the youth, for all those I have met for two years (...).

If I go, it is not to disappoint and leave after doing a little lap

, ”he swears.

It's not us, it's not me.

If I go there, it is because I am combative, fighter and because I want to give back hope, to win back the hearts and minds of those who no longer believe in it,

”explained Fabien Roussel, who wishes to maintain his application "

whatever the cost

".

Put the left "in orbit"

According to him, the “

dispersion of candidates

” on the left is not a problematic issue.

On the other hand, what according to him "

poses a problem today is the fact that many French people are turning away from this election and including from the left

", he believes.

The elected representative of the North considers that, when it was in power, the left “

disappointed so much

” and allowed the National Assembly to access the second round of the presidential election.

"

That's why (...) that we must put this left in orbit, it must make people dream again

", he expressed on Europe 1.

"

It is a pact with the French (...) that I propose

", he launched, promising that once in power, he would build his reforms with them.

Also questioned about the lack of enthusiasm surrounding his candidacy, the Communist quipped: "

I am like Thomas Pesquet, I have not yet taken off and I hope to put myself in orbit

".
