Patients with new coronary pneumonia with the N501Y variant strain reappeared in the local community.
The Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health pointed out that an initially confirmed foreign domestic helper came to Hong Kong last month and checked into the Ramada Hotel Sai Ying Pun for quarantine. She was found to have initially N501Y at the home of her employer, Kennedy Road.
After tracking, it was found that during the stay of the foreign domestic helper in the hotel, there were 3 people who were subsequently diagnosed in the quarantine room, 2 of whom had N501Y. The government will ask the people staying in the hotel to re-quarantine and study with experts whether there is a problem with the hotel.
On April 11, under the four-person gathering restriction order, many foreign domestic helpers and citizens set up tents on the grasslands of Victoria Park and have leisure and entertainment activities.

The foreign domestic helper was quarantined at the Ramada Hotel Sai Ying Pun from March 27 to April 16. After leaving on the 17th, he went to the employer's house at No. 8 Kennedy Road to live with the employer and other foreign domestic helpers.
On the 19th of this month, the foreign domestic helper went to the Immigration Department for a physical examination, visited the immigration department on the same day, and went to the employment company at Jinan Building, 176 Queen's Road Central. During the period, a staff member explained the matter to her.
The government’s public laboratory examined the sample and found that it was N501Y, which is another case of mutant virus found in the community.
A review of the foreign domestic helper’s quarantine period at the Ramada Hotel revealed that there was a family member in the isolation room, and there were 3 earlier confirmed cases that overlapped her for 4 days. Two of them detected N501Y, and the other did not have enough samples to be tested.
Zhang pointed out that the family had moved to another floor due to room problems. "It is a coincidence that it is related and worried." Since the foreign domestic helper has a mutant strain, I would like to track the residents on the same floor at the overlap time. After receiving a period of quarantine, we will also discuss with experts whether there is a problem with the hotel.
