Fridays for Future has called for a vigil in Schongau.
The trigger was the climate summit of US President Joe Biden.
There was also a project on site.
Schongau
- Even if a small group of politicians like US President Joe Biden might not immediately rethink, it is still important to “get small stones rolling”, which in turn can initiate major changes, explained Julius Eder from the “ Fridays-for-Future ”group in Schongau on Friday afternoon at a vigil on Schongau's Marienplatz.
In fact, only six people took part in the demonstration.
The group assumes that the demo was planned too quickly and, above all, was made known.
Fridays for Future Schongau: Discussion with city council planned
The reason for the vigil was the climate summit initiated by Biden, to which, however, only "representatives of the rich countries" were invited, as "Fridays for Future" criticized.
There are (especially poorer) countries and people who are already suffering from climate change.
How should something change for the better if you don't hear these voices, Julius Eder criticized in a speech.
He also announced that they wanted to achieve climate neutrality on site and that a conversation with city council members was planned.
The participants were asked for suggestions on how to exchange ideas.
