It is hard to find good news that will lift your spirits.
Those that report the rise in infections and deaths from a pandemic that
does not give truce or has a retreat in sight
abound
.
And also those where aggression and political speculation fight hand-to-hand with the Covid in the headlines.
Less serious but
not so less serious
are other news these days, such as that Pope Bergoglio has appointed the piquetero friend of the Government Juan Grabois in what would be the social and environmental ministry of the Vatican. The position is of consultant member and in the Church they say that the proposal was of the Ghanaian Peter Tuckson, head of that ministry.
Can anyone believe that story?
Who put Grabois there but Bergoglio?
The Pope cannot ignore the move, which
raises the price for Grabois and enhances Grabois's speech
. And he incorporates him to the select group of six Argentine advisers: Béliz, Zampini, the Carbajal-Insaurraga couple and De Corral y Palmeyro, from Scholas Occurrentes. Bergoglio is no longer as talkative about Argentine issues as he was during Cristina's tenure. Nor does it express the disenchantment as when the president was Macri.
But it is still Bergoglio
.
Grabois contributed a lot to the departure of the Minister of Housing, María Eugenia Bielsa, who fell under friendly fire after fighting and losing with the chief piquetero
over the management and the box of the National Registry of Popular Neighborhoods
. Bielsa had said that the land seizures "are criminal acts." Grabois responded by occupying fields in Entre Ríos, which he tried to turn into a feat against landowners.
Amado Boudou, another of our mirrors, is always news. Sentenced to five years and ten months for corruption, Cristina's former vice continues to dribble back to jail.
Nothing like it has been seen in Justice
. The story begins a year ago, when the Obligado judge manages to sneak him among the prisoners released by the pandemic with the unusual argument that Boudou's wife needs help to take care of her children. It was the first in a series of
hilarious measures to benefit him
.
The prosecutor Colombo appeals but Obligado refuses to enable the judicial fair. May arrives and in Cassation another prosecutor, De Luca, desists from appealing: he says that the sentence is not final even though Boudou is condemned by a Court and by Cassation.
With that he earns another six months
. The Court ratified in December that the sentence is firm but Boudou
invokes the Rights of the Child
to remain at home.
He returns to the scene Forced, with another maneuver. He is about to carry out the sentence but
asks the prosecutors to tell him what Boudou studied in the Ezeiza prison
. Delirious. Prosecutors insist: Boudou must return to prison and Obligado has no choice but to revoke the domicile. The lawyers appeal. Another fair comes and the issue goes to Cassation,
which annuls the ruling
of Forced "due to errors"!
History is already comedy and farce
: there is a new judge, Basilico, and a new audience with the defenders. Basilico decides to send Boudou to jail but first he must confirm Cassation. Although you do not believe it.
