India's Ministry of Health said that Corona injuries rose by 346,786 overnight, setting a new world record for the third consecutive day, as overcrowded hospitals demanded oxygen supplies.

The Indian government deployed military planes and trains to deliver oxygen from the far reaches of the country to Delhi, and television showed an oxygen truck arriving at the Batra Hospital in Delhi after it issued a distress saying it had 90 minutes of remaining oxygen to its 260 patients.

This health disaster also spread to other parts of the country, as several hospitals issued public notifications stating that they lack medical oxygen, and local media reported new deaths in the cities of Jaipur and Amritsar due to the lack of gas.

India surpassed the US record of 297,430 infections in one day anywhere in the world yesterday, making it a global epicenter for the epidemic.

The death toll from Corona across India has also increased by 2,624 during the past twenty-four hours, the highest daily rate for the country so far.

India has recorded a total of 16.6 million coronavirus cases, including 189,544 deaths.

India is witnessing a second severe wave of the epidemic, with one death from Corona recorded every 4 minutes approximately in Delhi with the collapse of the health system in the underfunded capital.
