A new festival in the middle of the corona pandemic?

This is exactly what the music center in Nuremberg is planning for this summer.

This is what the bonsai festival should look like.

Nuremberg - In the middle of the Corona * crisis, the Nuremberg Music Center (MUZ) is starting a new project.

Nuremberg * is to get a new festival in the summer.

The first edition will take place this year from July 9th to 10th - a foretaste of the big edition that is to take place at Lake Wöhrder in 2022.

The do-it-yourself character is at the center of the event.

Nuremberg: New festival starts - planning and design is up to young people interested in culture

In the garden of the MUZ in Nuremberg-Gostenhof, the first edition of the new bonsai festival will take place on the second weekend in July, as the music center announced in a message.

Since the situation around the pandemic is still uncertain, it is planned to implement it with the current corona requirements.

The whole thing is planned and designed by young and active people interested in culture.

"Program, decoration, technology and communication - around 30 people and initiatives are currently involved in various working groups and are creating a festival that should be open and accessible to everyone," says the message.

Topics such as sustainability, inclusion, diversity and cultural diversity are in the foreground and can be found in various program items.

The planning has already progressed, but interested parties still have the opportunity to participate and get involved in the organization, according to the announcement.

The MUZ and Luise want to take over the "annoying" visits to the authorities.

The necessary infrastructure will also be provided.

In addition to musical performances, workshops and discussions are also conceivable.

Local artists from various musical genres will be able to perform at the new bonsai festival - just like their big sister, the Klüpfel Open Air.

Who exactly will be in the line-up is currently still open.

After the cancellation of the famous Nuremberg festival “Rock im Park”, this is a small consolation for many festival fans.
