The new crown pneumonia epidemic in Hong Kong has been repeated, and the new crown vaccination program has been launched for nearly two months.

A doctor at Queen Mary Hospital recently fainted at home 2 days after being vaccinated with BioNTech. He was initially diagnosed with cerebral hemorrhage and was in serious condition.

The new crown vaccine clinical event assessment expert committee co-convened Kong Fanyi today (24th), said that it is understood that the doctor himself has sleep apnea and high blood pressure, and emphasized that the public should control long-term patients before vaccinating.

He also said that the most important aspect of residential care homes is to evaluate residents. Staff vaccination is more important than elder vaccination. Because of the infection to the elders, there may be a major outbreak. If staff, residents’ family members have received two doses of vaccine, I believe The visitation measures can be relaxed."

Kong Fanyi pointed out in the commercial TV program "Political and Economic Saturday" today that most of the deaths after vaccination have serious long-term illnesses, including high blood lipids and coronary heart disease. The deaths have nothing to do with the vaccine.

He also pointed out that there are currently more than 1,000 reports of adverse events, accounting for only 0.17% of all vaccinators, and many of them are minor incidents.

The proportions of adverse events of Kexing vaccine and Fubitai vaccine in vaccinators were 0.22% and 0.12%, respectively. He believes that the difference in the proportions is related to the age of vaccination.

Regarding the vaccination of pregnant women, he pointed out that 90,000 pregnant women had no adverse accidents after being vaccinated with Fubitai, so they considered it safe; and women who were breastfeeding could also pass antibodies to their babies after vaccination.

He emphasized that whether pregnant women should be vaccinated can be based on their own wishes. As the epidemic situation in Hong Kong is stable, pregnant women can choose when to vaccinate themselves.

As for the cases of Bell's facial paralysis after vaccination, Kong Fanyi pointed out that the baseline of Bell's facial paralysis in the past may not be accurate. Many people in the past have been treated in private hospitals because of their mild illness.

He also encouraged young people to get vaccinated, because many young patients are asymptomatic and carriers of the virus, who are at risk of infecting family members and the elderly. Young people have a high antibody protection rate after being vaccinated, and they have better protection against the mutant virus.

When asked that many residents in residential care homes for the elderly are not suitable for vaccination, Kong Fanyi responded that employee vaccination is more important than elder vaccination because employees often come into contact with the elders, and if it is infected to the elders, there may be a major outbreak.

For example, after the staff of the institution are vaccinated, the number of tests can also be reduced.

The University of Hong Kong is currently conducting a mixed vaccination study. Kong Fanyi said that it is progressing smoothly and more than 20 people have been recruited to participate, and the first dose of vaccination has been completed.

He expects that the study will be completed in two to three months, and preliminary data will be available after another two months.

He also emphasized that it is not recommended to "ditch needles" by oneself.

As for the Hong Kong University's new crown nasal spray vaccine, he said that more than 10 people have been vaccinated, and the side effects are only minor cases such as nasal congestion. Currently, the antibody performance of the vaccinators will be followed up, especially the mucosal antibodies of the nose and oral cavity.

The goal is to have a chance to be applied after two to three years, and the vaccine can also prevent seasonal influenza.

He also described the epidemic in Hong Kong as "half a marathon, hoping to catch up from behind to achieve the effect of herd immunity."
