The Russian Embassy in Washington said that the US State Department had summoned the Russian Chargé d'Affairs to the United States against the background of Moscow's allegations of "destabilizing actions in the Euro-Atlantic space."
The embassy added in a tweet on Twitter today that the Russian Chargé d'Affairs took advantage of the meeting at the US State Department to refute the "baseless" accusations against Russia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry recently summoned the US ambassador in Moscow, John Sullivan, against the backdrop of Washington’s imposition of new sanctions against Russia.
On the fifteenth of this month, the United States imposed sanctions against 32 Russian entities and personalities over the allegations of Russian interference in the last presidential elections, as well as sanctions against 5 individuals and 3 companies in the Crimea.
