The retired priest Siegfried Bleichner from Peitingen can celebrate his 80th birthday tomorrow, Sunday, April 25th, with joy and gratitude.

Due to the corona, a big thanksgiving service followed by a reception is of course not possible.

Peiting

- Together with the retired Archbishop Friedrich Cardinal Wetter, all believers in Peiting and Neubiberg are happy that the pastor is able to celebrate the Eucharist with body and soul after years of very difficult health. “We are not masters of your faith, but servants of your joy”. Pastor Siegfried Bleichner remained true to his first sentence. This can also be felt in the guide to the Peitinger Riedschaftskapellen, completed in 2016 - a matter close to the heart of the Spiritual Council.

The pastor, born in 1941 as the son of the miners' family Xaver and Mina Bleichner, was ordained priest in 1969 on the feast of the princes of the apostles Peter and Paul in Freising Cathedral by the then Cardinal Julius Döpfner.

The primacy in his home community with around 5000 people celebrating was a major event that has remained unsurpassed to this day.

After his chaplain years in Velden an der Vils and Ortisei in Berg am Laim, Bleichner became a pastor in Neubiberg on October 1, 1979.

And this Neubiberg has grown dear to him like no other place: With his typical hearty humor and energetic commitment, he has left traces in the parish of the Rosary Queen.

These include his commitment to the socially disadvantaged, the parish's aid projects and the use of his own parish bus, which brings older and no longer mobile parishioners to Sunday worship.

Pioneering work was also the first parish letter in 1980, the first parent-child group in 1987 and the founding of the Kolping Family in 1988. A big dream goal for Bleichner was in 1998 with the laying of the foundation stone for his own cemetery on the grounds of the former airport in fulfillment.

A link to his birthplace Peiting in Neubiberg over the years were the poor school sisters from the market community, who spent their twilight years in the Maria-Theresia-Heim. When Siegfried Bleichner retired, he returned to his home parish in autumn 2008. He was also happy to celebrate services in Hohenpeißenberg and with great joy in the Riedschaft chapels.

Unfortunately, he was only able to enjoy his retirement for just under four years: two burst aneurysms in his head and several strokes turned his life around.

Thanks to his iron will, the careful support day and night from Margaretereiber and not least thanks to God's help with the intercession of Mary, he is able to celebrate masses again after this serious illness.

Because pastoral care and liturgy were and are the highest for Bleichner.

He also wishes that God would continue to give him the strength to do so and that after Corona a service could be celebrated in the Herzogsägmühle with the youth band "Neubiberg" he founded.
