New to the Arab Writers Union, which was recently announced by the book “My Memoirs of the Revolution and the Fighting”, edited, investigated and presented by the researcher Farouk Aslim, which included the memoirs and biography of the fighter Sheikh Yusuf al-Saadoun, one of the most prominent leaders of the revolution against the French in northern Syria.
In the book, Al-Saadoun's memoirs reveal that the French have relied a lot on their traitors, who bring them news daily and hourly about everything that happens in the areas of the revolution.
In the book, the Saadoun also showed the difficulty of the dilemmas he was exposed to in return for not giving up and his companions, preferring to die over horseback riding and in the fields of honor, in addition to what men pledged that none of them would flee to any party until death.
The Sadun Mujahideen displayed many of the battlefields that were fought against the French, such as the Battle of Qalans, the Battle of the Slaves, the Battle of Abyan, and other battles.
Researcher Aslim shed light on the beginning of the revolution in Jabal al-Arab led by Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, then Hassan al-Kharrat revolted in Damascus, then Muhammad Izz al-Din al-Halabi and Muhammad Saeed al-Aas came and took over the leadership of Ghouta and the outskirts of Damascus, pointing out that the Turkish government at that time fortified its borders and established outposts along the Syrian-Turkish border and prevented The Syrian rebels from residing near the Syrian border and started chasing everyone who crossed its borders, and this was what was difficult for the rebels.
The book went on to reveal the extension of the revolution in the face of the French colonialist to focus on his surroundings from the news of Ibrahim Hanano, the battle of Jericho, the battles of Jabal al-Zawiya, the news of Mustafa Hajj Hussein, what happened with Ibrahim Hanano during the revolution and the harsh conditions that the towns where the revolution intensified.
The researcher referred to the collapses suffered by Jabal al-Zawiya and the survival of Mustafa Haj Hussein and a small group with him defending the land, then the outbreak of battles in Jisr al-Shughour, Sheikh Khattab, Maarat Misrin, Darsita and Aqaba.
In the book, the researcher draws attention to the awareness of the popular national leaderships that fought the French mandate, such as Sheikh Saleh Al-Ali, Sheikh Youssef Al-Saadoun, Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash and Hassan Al-Kharrat, in addition to other paths that Idlib experienced during the French colonial confrontations.
The book issued by the Arab Writers Union, which is located in 345 large pages, is authored by a member of the Executive Office of the Union and has many research and literature, including belonging to pre-Islamic poetry, Quraysh poetry in pre-Islamic, early Islam, readings in poetry, Arabism and other books, and he is a professor of pre-Islamic literature at the University of Aleppo.
