The Ramadan Charity Market in the old fairground city of Damascus is witnessing an increasing turnout of shoppers to take advantage of the offers and discounts offered by companies and buy their basic commodities, especially food, detergents and clothes.
SANA monitored the movement of visitors and shoppers, as Hisham Salem, a university teacher, pointed out that there are good offers and discounts and acceptable prices in the market, while Faten, a university student, said that she came to the market after her colleagues told her about the offers presented in it and she had bought some items at a reduced price.
Alia Al-Khatib saw that the idea of the market is wonderful, and she wished that the experience would be repeated and continue throughout the year, especially that the organization is good and allows citizens to buy their needs easily, while Muhammad Khair Ghali indicated the need for merchants to reduce their prices in all months of the year, not only during Ramadan.
The offers won the approval of Umm Ahmed, the housewife, especially the discounts on washing powders and tissues, while Muhannad Mahfoud considered that the prices were appropriate and somewhat acceptable, especially on some foodstuffs.
From a commercial company, Amal Blan indicated that the company reduced the prices of its products in the market to be accessible to the largest segment of shoppers, as it offered a bag of baby towels, for example, at 8 thousand pounds compared to 9300 pounds, the price that is sold abroad.
Mahmoud Ishaq, from a company for the manufacture of chocolate and biscuits, indicated that discounts from 15 to 20 percent were offered on the company's products in the market, indicating that the turnout is good.
In turn, Muhammad Muzal, Executive Director of a commercial group, considered that the market canceled the intermediary between the producer and the consumer and provided products at cost prices to share the burden with the citizens, pointing to the remarkable demand for shopping, especially in the period after breakfast, when the market is witnessing great crowding.
Mohamed Al Hafi, responsible for promoting a food company, stated that the discounts on the prices of all the company's products range between 20 and 25 percent depending on the type of product, indicating that the market demand is improving with the progress of the days of Ramadan, and Maher Mahmoud agreed with him, who indicated that the turnout is increasing day after day because visitors have found prices Suitable and versatile, the offered products meet all the needs of the family, especially those with limited incomes.
For his part, the festival's organizing director, Talal Qalaa, said that the high turnout by citizens to buy their needs from the market and the reductions announced by the companies, especially with the improvement of the exchange rate reflected the success of the charitable market project.
