An earthquake measuring 5.6 degrees on the Richter scale struck this evening off the coast of Socotra Island, in southern Yemen.
The site of the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center stated that an earthquake measuring 5.6 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded at a distance of 358 kilometers from the city of Hadibu, the capital of the Socotra Archipelago, pointing out that the monitoring stations recorded the epicenter of the quake at a depth of 10 kilometers at a line of 57.11 east and 13.79 north.
Socotra consists of 6 islands located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of the Horn of Africa near the Gulf of Aden.
