MK Gideon Saar's boycott of a Netanyahu-led government continues in full force - but members of the right-wing camp continue the campaign of pressure and persuasion in an attempt to join the right-wing government.
The initiator this time: Chairman of Jewish Power, MK Itamar Ben Gvir.
The proposal: Join the government - and give up my demand to be appointed minister.
As you may recall, Saar opposes cooperation with Ben Gvir in the government.
Before the election, he stated that the chairman of a Jewish power "is not a real partner" and that if he forms a government, he will not rely "neither on the votes of Ben Gvir nor on the votes of the joint list."
It should be noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said before the election that Ben Gvir would not be a partner in the government, but that Ben Gvir was not excited and said several times that if he had the 61st finger, he would get what he asked for.
Now, in talks with Saar associates, he noted that "in order to form a right-wing government and prevent the formation of a left-wing government with Labor, Meretz and the joint - I am willing to give up the post of minister. The main thing that prevented the left from coming to power."
According to Ben Gvir's men, Saar has not yet responded to the request.
In response, MK Ben Gvir said: "Without addressing private talks, I am indeed willing to give up a lot to block a left-wing government."
Saar's representatives declined to comment.
