Another uneasy night in the south: A red alarm was sounded in the city of Sderot and nearby localities, including the southern industrial area of the city of Ashkelon.
The IDF spokesman said that one launch had been identified from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, which was intercepted by air defense fighters.
No injuries or damage have been reported so far.
During the night, the IDF attacked terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip in response to the rocket fire yesterday. This is the second night of firing from the Gaza Strip at Israel, after the terrorist organizations decided to shoot in solidarity with the riots in Jerusalem.
Egyptian sources told the Qatari newspaper Al-Arabi al-Jadid today that a security delegation would arrive from Cairo to visit the Gaza Strip and Israel soon.
The delegation will meet with Israeli officials and the heads of Palestinian terrorist organizations, led by Hamas, in an attempt to halt the latest escalation.
Sources also noted that senior Egyptian intelligence officials held talks last night (Friday) to prevent a conflict following the escalation in the Gaza Strip.
According to sources, many factors are taking part in trying to prevent a new conflict.
