The People's Assembly held today its seventh session of the second special session headed by Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council.

On the anniversary of the 106th anniversary of the genocide crimes committed against the Armenians by the Ottomans, a number of council members spoke, stressing that this crime will remain a stain on Turkey as long as it continues to deny it and implement its aggressive plans in Syria, pointing to the feelings of gratitude and gratitude that the Armenian people have for the Syrian people and leadership And government for everything they gave to the Armenians over the years.

With regard to the entitlement to the presidential elections, a number of members of the Council affirmed that the Syrian people, who destroyed by their firm will all the conspiracies hatched against them, will not be deterred by any matter from exercising their right and constitutional duty to elect a president of the republic, indifferent to the external pressures exerted against him, stressing that history is not made by traitors and conspirators Rather, the free and the martyrs.

Some members of the Council believed that the presidential elections that will take place on the date set on the 26th of next May will constitute a fundamental and important joint in the contemporary history of Syria that has its political, economic and social repercussions and an affirmation of Syria's advancement by the strength of its people and institutions on the path of democracy and freedom of expression.

Then the members of the Council continued to discuss the draft law that included the creation of the General Authority for Real Estate Development and Investment to replace the authority that was created under Law No. 15 of 2008, as most of the members saw the need to separate the issue of random housing from the issue of developing areas and real estate developers, and that issues of random housing areas must be contained in separate legislation This is due to the large number of entanglements resulting from the rights of owners, occupants and tenants in these areas.

As a result of the continuous discussions among the members of the Council, they agreed by the majority to return the entirety of the aforementioned bill to a joint committee composed of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs, Local Administration and Urban Development Committees, to study it in depth and separate random housing areas from the content of the project represented by real estate development areas and then prepare the necessary report on it.

The session, which was attended by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, rose to 12 noon tomorrow, Sunday.
