The Brooklyn Nets nabbed Philadelphia's first Eastern Conference spot on Friday in the NBA on an evening marked by another 30-plus game for Warriors star Stephen Curry.

On its floor, the New York franchise led by Kyrie Irving (15 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds) dominated Boston 109-104 and now has one more victory than the Sixers (40 against 39).

The Nets' first place remains fragile, with Philadelphia having the opportunity to pick up on Saturday during its trip to Milwaukee.

After their defeat in Brooklyn, the Celtics occupy sixth place in the Eastern Conference, just behind Atlanta (5th) which neutralized Miami (7th) by a score of 118 to 103.

In the other matches of the evening, the Los Angeles Clippers dominated Houston (109-104) and the Golden State Warriors more largely controlled Denver (118-97).
