A 50-year-old man, a foreign national from Sri Lanka, was arrested last night (Friday) on suspicion of committing sexual offenses on an 8-year-old minor with a disability.
The suspect escaped after he was seen attacking the girl in Ashdod.
Police officers who arrived at the scene began extensive searches, during which he was located and arrested.
Tonight the suspect will be brought to court to discuss a request to extend his detention.
A similar incident occurred today in Hadera, after a 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of committing serious sexual offenses on a 30-year-old woman with a disability.
The suspect was arrested after the woman complained about the man, who met with him after she met him on one of the social networks.
He will be brought before the court tomorrow with a request to extend his detention.
