The branch of the Syrian Foundation for Trade in Sweida today started offering quantities of vegetables in the city hall at discounted prices from the market, according to the persons concerned with the institution.
The director of the Foundation's branch, Asif Haidar, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the quantities offered amount to about 7 tons and are added to more than twenty tons that have been put up in the city hall since the beginning of the month of Ramadan and sold to citizens at prices lower than the market, pointing out that the branch will continue to draw additional quantities during the coming days. With the aim of providing them to citizens well.
For his part, the director of the City Hall for Vegetables and Fruits, Mamoun Al-Aqil, stated that the quantities offered include the types of plastic cucumbers, municipal tomatoes, salty potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, dry onions, eggplant, zucchini, beans, carrots, municipal garlic, sweet peppers and peas, in addition to oranges and lemons, at prices less than the market per kilogram, at an amount not less than 200 per kilogram. Lira or more for each type.
And the prices per kilo, according to what was announced this morning, for cabbage 300 pounds, for cauliflower 500 pounds, for municipal beans and dry onions 600 pounds, for bananas tomatoes 650 pounds, for salty potatoes, carrots and eggplant 800 pounds, for plastic cucumbers and zucchini 1000 pounds, for oranges and Lemons are 1,200 liras, garlic and peas are 1,500 liras, and sweet peppers are 3,500 liras.
