About half of the British have already received the first Covid-19 vaccination, and shops and pubs have recently reopened. After the first loosening of the lockdown, more are scheduled for mid-May, among other things, food and drinks will then be allowed to be sold in closed rooms again. In addition, a health passport will then be introduced that could enable vaccinated or cured vacationers to travel without quarantine. The complete relaxation of all restrictions is scheduled for June 21, according to the current "roadmap" of the Johnson administration.
Nevertheless, there were clashes between police and protesters on Saturday during demonstrations against corona protective measures in central London.
Open-air gatherings with more than 30 participants are currently still prohibited.
In the case of demonstrations, exceptions are possible after a risk assessment
Large parts of the demonstration, which consisted of vaccination opponents and corona deniers, among other things, did not wear protective masks during the event and did not keep a safe distance.
According to media reports, bystanders and mask-wearing passers-by were insulted by the crowd.
Many demonstrators carried banners and posters rejecting the introduction of a vaccination card.
Others called for "Give the flu a chance" or "Make Influenza Great Again."
Piers Corbyn and Laurence Fox, two of the four anti-lockdown candidates in the running for mayoral election in May, attended the march with thousands of others.
