A fire at Tashi Building, Po Tat Village, Sau Mau Ping, claimed 4 lives and destroyed a three-generation family.
The 47-year-old female head of the household, the 27-year-old eldest daughter, the 26-year-old daughter and the 2-year-old granddaughter were buried in the flames. Although the 60-year-old male head of the household escaped from the fire, he was also injured in hospital.
The Daxilou Mutual Aid Committee organized a public memorial today (25th) and invited Taoist priests to beat the dead.
Many neighbours in the village showed up to donate money, and nearly 50 enthusiastic neighbours were present to fold gold, silver and paper.
District councillors said that the fundraising amount will be passed to the Chen family later.

The Daxi Building Mutual Aid Committee posted a notice in the lobby earlier, stating that today (25th) the mutual committee will conduct a ritual for the four victims of the deadly fire. The ceremony will be held next to the basement of Daxi Building.
At about 1 o'clock this afternoon, the staff placed a batch of paper-bound sacrifices on the altar. Afterwards, a large number of Taoist priests wore Taoist robes and began to transcend the ritual. During this period, Taoist priests blew suona, beat drums, knocked gongs and chanted sutras to transcend dead souls.
There were also about 50 neighbourhood helpers folding gold, silver and paper.
There are also a few neighbours at the entrance of Daxi Building to help raise funds.
District Councillor Chen Yiu-hsiung said that the festival was initiated by the Tak Sie House Mutual Committee to express their hearts and overwhelm the souls of the dead.
Chen Xu pointed out that in the past, he had kept in touch with his family members, but the family members were still in a complicated mood, and there were some people staying in the hospital for treatment, so they would not be present today to participate in the public sacrifice.
As for the donations raised by the neighbourhood, it will be transferred to the Chen family later.
As far as he knows, for the time being, there are also different groups interested in providing support to family members, but now it depends on the wishes and needs of the family members.
The reporter saw at the scene that many neighbours in the village also came to donate money.
Mrs. Chen said that since Baoda Village, she felt sad about the incident, "I will do my best." And Mrs. Lai had already been there on the 4th day to fold the gold and silver paper. She recalled that many fire trucks were there to fight the fire on the night of the incident. He also pointed out: "I don't have to worry about it all night, (fire alarm) It's miserable, I heard tears bury it."

At 3 o'clock in the morning on April 16, a 6-person 3-bedroom unit on the 5th floor of Tat Hi House, Po Tat Village, caught fire due to the battery of the massage chair. The fire spread rapidly, spreading to shoe racks and sundries cabinets. It was difficult for the people to escape, which eventually led to the death of 4 people in the burning unit, including the female head of the household, the eldest daughter, the young daughter, and the 2-year-old granddaughter.
The eldest son-in-law who lived with the incident was away from home, and when he rushed downstairs to the house, he saw his wife getting into the ambulance and wept bitterly.
