Hundreds of Palestinians were injured and dozens of others were arrested during the past three days as a result of the Israeli occupation forces' continuous attacks on Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip, whose residents took part in massive demonstrations in support of Jerusalem in the face of the systematic attacks of the occupation to implement its plan to Judaize it and displace Palestinians from it.
Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Wasel Abu Youssef confirmed to SANA reporter that the criminal escalation of the occupation against the Palestinians in the occupied city of Jerusalem since the beginning of the month of Ramadan and its provision of protection for settlers to escalate their incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the old city in the city. The Palestinian people will only increase their steadfastness to continue the struggle to regain their full rights and defeat the occupation .
Abu Yusef indicated that the Palestinians today entered a new phase of steadfastness entitled “Jerusalem is Arab Palestinian and we will protect it with our souls and blood,” noting that the brutality of the occupation in suppressing the demonstrations that took place in the West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip in support of the holy city will not discourage the Palestinians from continuing the struggle to thwart the plans of Judaization, displacement and uprooting.
Abu Yusef called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and to stop the occupation crimes against them and their land and sanctities.
For her part, a member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Maryam Abu Daqqa, explained that the Palestinian people are fighting a heroic battle to defend the identity, history and civilization of the city of Jerusalem and that the massive uprising that broke out in the face of the occupation is a confirmation that the battle of Jerusalem is the battle of the entire Palestinian people and that national rights and constants are not subject to Bargaining and protecting and defending the sanctities is part of the saga of steadfastness that the Palestinian people write.
Abu Daqqa criticized the silence of the international community towards the ongoing occupation crimes against the Palestinians, noting that the bombing of the Gaza Strip with artillery and aircraft is part of the occupation’s plans to expand the aggression against the Palestinian people, encouraged in this by the absence of any international pressure on it to stop its attacks.
In turn, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Barghouti, stated that what is happening in Jerusalem and all the Palestinian territories is a massive popular uprising in the face of the occupation’s racism and its repressive practices in the city of Jerusalem and its continuous violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, and an assertion that the occupation’s plans to annex and Judaize Jerusalem will not pass and that the Palestinians will continue to defend Arabism of their city and its future.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments Hussam Abu Al-Rub indicated that the occupation targets the Palestinian presence in the occupied city of Jerusalem by firing live bullets at its people, arresting them, storming their homes, demolishing them or handing them over to settlers, as well as his continuous attempts to prevent prayer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and provide protection for settlers to storm it and storm Palestinian neighborhoods. And assault on them and their property.
Abu al-Rub affirmed that Jerusalem is a Palestinian of dirt, passion, history and civilization, and that the occupation that targets people, stones and sanctities cannot change the image, identity and history of Jerusalem, stressing that the Palestinian people are writing a new epic of the epics of defending Jerusalem to drop the Judaization schemes.
