Jakarta-Sana

The Indonesian authorities announced today the death of all 53 crew members of its submarine, which went missing off the island of Bali last Wednesday.

Reuters quoted the authorities as saying that all crew members of the submarine (KRI Nagala 402) were killed, including the leader of the Indonesian Submarine Fleet Harry Sitiawan, confirming that the submarine was found in three parts at the bottom of the sea off the coast of Bali.

Officials had confirmed that the oxygen supplies for the submarine crew had run out early yesterday, stressing that there is no hope of finding any survivors.

The submarine, one of five in the Indonesian fleet, disappeared during a live torpedo exercise off the tourist island of Bali.
