Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced today that his country is ready to take more response measures if the United States continues to escalate.
Sputnik quoted the Russian minister as saying on the "Russia 1" channel: "We announced the measures that we have taken towards the actions of the United States and we are still ready to take more of them if the escalation continues."
Lavrov indicated that at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Joe Biden's proposal to hold a summit was received positively and is being studied now.
Biden suggested, during a phone conversation with Putin, a personal meeting in a third country.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Biden suggested that he meet Putin in the coming weeks, while Russian President Aide Ushakov announced that the summit might take place next June.
