Charitable work in the blessed month of Ramadan is unique from the rest of the months because it embodies societal values ​​inherited from social solidarity and support for needy groups, but over time it has taken an organized and institutional character through the initiatives of NGOs and the continuous volunteer teams in the various governorates to reach the largest number of beneficiaries.

In Damascus and its countryside, the Jerusalem Charitable Association distributed 475 food baskets from the beginning of Ramadan until yesterday and seeks to reach the distribution of 700 baskets to cover the needs of a number of families registered with it from Damascus and its countryside, according to what its executive director, Nawras Jalbout, said in a statement to SANA, noting that the association contributes to Ramadan Also, the initiative "If you have a date", where its volunteers distribute water and dates to passers-by in the areas of Bab Al-Musalla and Karaj Al-Sit during the Iftar period for people who are late to reach their homes.

Hayat Foundation participates in in-kind initiatives for the second year in a row during the month of Ramadan, according to Samia Nahas, the head of relief programs in it, who indicated that since the beginning of the month of Ramadan so far, the Foundation distributed 281 food baskets targeting needy families and female breadwinners in Damascus and the Arbin and Hatit al-Turkman areas in Damascus countryside.

In Homs, the Spring Society for the Care of People with Autism Disorder organized a charitable breakfast in the Zenobia hall in the Al-Waer neighborhood, in which a number of social, economic and civil activities participated in it, where Mahmoud Al-Shaer, Chairman of the Association, explained that the proceeds of the breakfast will return to support the association's projects that currently sponsor 70 autistic people, providing them with health and educational care And psychological and rehabilitation programs to integrate them into society.

As part of the Ramadan Good Initiative in the liberated countryside of Raqqa, the governorate of Raqqa, in cooperation with charitable societies and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, continues to distribute food baskets and material and in-kind aid to the families and wounded of the army and those without breadwinners.

The governor of Raqqa, Abdul Razzaq Khalifeh, said in a statement to the SANA reporter that the initiative comes to reach the families most in need to alleviate the burden of difficult living conditions, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Khalifa stated that the total value of aid provided by economic and commercial activities, NGOs and donors exceeded 15 million Syrian pounds during the month of Ramadan, in addition to food baskets provided by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and international organizations supporting and contributing.

The Ramadan Good Initiative targets needy families in the liberated countryside of Raqqa, whose population is about 177,000 people, distributed in Dabsi Afnan sub-district, Al-Sabkha sub-district, Ma'dan, and the town of Hamdaniya and its villages.
