An intriguing collaboration between Israeli composer Butzer and Indian music artist Lucky Ali is behind a new song in Arabic, Arabic and Hindi that is conquering India.

After the two's first joint song came out at the end of 2019 and gained great exposure and appreciation in the media in India, the second song, 'Amraya' ('Mirrors') is now out, which is part of a joint album recorded by Butzer and Lucky over the past four years with leading producers and musicians from Israel and India.

Butzer's connection to India began in 2003, when he moved with his family on a mission to India, where they established and managed centers that serve to this day as a warm home for Israeli travelers in the country, provide initial response to drug and road accident victims, and provide a place for dialogue and unity between factions and sectors.

"After a friend who was with me in the army was killed," Butzer tells Israel Today, "my wife, I and the children went to India and opened a home for Israelis there, a kind of embassy, because we realized that there was a need for unification in India, far from home. "It has become a project for Israeli travelers to volunteer with Indian orphans and farmers, and we have also focused on interconnected cultures and performances at local music festivals."

The connection with Lucky, who is considered one of the most famous and successful artists in India, was formed four years ago: "We thought of recording one single together, but we quickly realized that the best thing is to create a joint album together. We joined him and his band in India and he came to visit us in Israel, and all At the time, we worked on both channels, both online and physically, and in the past year we have been able to do more with material polishing, examining new materials and working on the clips with materials we shot in our meetings before the corona and with materials that everyone shot. "

The Jewish-Indian song "Amraya" was written by the two in Hebrew, Arabic and Hindi, and carries a message of prayer out of human unity and identification. Butzer, who is an Orthodox Jew, and Lucky Ali, who is a devout Muslim, came to the joint musical project out of a desire to find the connector between the identities and cultures of each of them: "We wanted to look for the connecting points between us, and found them more than separators. "Around this project, because we realized that not only can we have a dialogue and sing together, but even pray together."

In the hymn of the song, sung in Arabic by the two, it is said that "we are all mirrors, reflections of each other." Butzer explains: "From our dialogue between cultures and religions we understood that it is most natural for the hymn to be in Arabic. Unfortunately I do not speak fluent Arabic, but I tried to learn the words. I believe that music is the language of the heart and can break barriers. Can affect the heart. "

"Instead of exaggerating separation, we need to understand that we are all trapped in a reality that can allow for a different human discourse and create harmony through the human language of experience, excitement and shared prayer. True, on the one hand we are all different, and should not be obscured, but on the other, we are also reflections. Each other and we have a similarity that surpasses all differences, so the more total we are in our individuality, the more we can connect to the collective from our point of truth - expressed through difference. Lucky, for example, prays in a different language than me, but we both pray for the same .

"Amraya", which received great exposure in the mainstream media in India, also reached other countries: "We also get responses from Arab countries like Pakistan and the UAE," says Butzer, "and there is already talk of a performance in Bahrain and the EU, it is on the agenda. "A religion that is made possible in India, also inspires hope in relation to what can happen here at home, in Israel. We want and can find a connection that is greater than all the conflicts."

In 2013, Butzer's first album, "Disorders. Attention. Concentration." Was released, and a year later, in 2014, his second album, "Am Haaretz" was released.

In 2019-2017, the singles "Pardes Pomegranates", "The House" and others from his third album "The House" were released.

The new album, "Upstairs", which includes the single "Amraia", will be released in the coming year in India and Israel at the same time.
