The Director of Informatics Department of the Syrian Telecom Company, Eng. Ghassan Akkash, confirmed that cutting off the telephone service and all its features from the Internet and the "EBTV" service for subscribers who failed to pay the phone bill is done automatically until the financial receivables are paid and after they are paid, the service returns in a time estimated between 2 and 12 hour.

Akkash pointed out in a statement to the SANA representative that some subscribers were upset about cutting all telephone services, as they did not exist in the past when the cutting was manual. Today, after the cutting became electronic, all services and features on the telephone line are disconnected from the subscriber, as the cutting is done automatically.

Akkash stated that Syrian Telecom gives its customers a period of one month from the date of issuing the invoice for the initiative to pay it and announces the date of issuance of invoices in the media, the dates of payment, cutting and canceling the subscription. Exceeding this period separates the subscription and all services belonging to the same subscriber in the event of any unpaid service.

Akkash pointed out that Syrian Telecom provides the toll-free number 160 to know the date of issuance of the telephone session and the details of its collection, explaining that the company has created several options for customers to pay their bills either through the direct press in the widespread telephone centers or through a payment company or through ATMs and electronic payment for those who have accounts with banks. Public and private or by depositing an advance on the account.
